Often it is my goal to make my photos look as close to how my eye sees things as possible. This is certainly not the case with this photo. I used the "silhouette" mode, which created this really awesome photo.
Nice drama! This scene might have been a good candidate for HDR treatment, I think. Is there any information in the shadows or is it really black here? I'm not sure how silhouette mode works.
I took a closer look at the photo file and the black regions really are totally black. I like it as a silhouette. It is probably more interesting than it would be if we could see the detail in the foreground objects.
