167 - a post about new things

I am so excited for today's post. On July 20th I got a package in the mail. The note that came with it said:
"Mama? Congratulations! It's a Lensbaby!"

That's right folks. I finally purchased a Lensbaby lens. I got the Muse, with the double glass optics.

This photo was taken on the day I got the lens, within an hour of opening it. It is possibly my most favorite photo taken to date.

Exposure time: 1/160 s
Aperture: f/2.8
ISO: 400

The lensbaby has a little disc that you drop into place that you can change out to change the aperture. As such, I might not always know what aperture was used for each photo, unless I don't do much changing.

Unfortunately, this photo makes it very obvious to me that the colors are not quite as bright when I upload the photo with blogger, compared to viewing it in iphoto... something to think about I guess.

There were a lot of chiles in Santa Fe. Usually they were hanging in bundles like this. I feel like that would be the way to dry the chiles out for eating in the future. But I'm pretty sure these were being sold as decoration.
