This was also taken in Nathan's Garden. This is Greg walking down the path (if you couldn't tell). The gimping of this photo included boosting the contrast ever-so-slightly and adding a bit of a feather border to the edges.

I really do love gimp. I didn't change this photo too too much. Just made it more pink, because it makes the blurred background look more neat and abstract-art-like. I took this photo this past weekend at Nathan's Garden in Hanover.

This old Getty sign is on the road near Greg's house. I had always been meaning to take a photo of it. One day, after a nice snow, I took this photo, from a moving vehicle (don't worry, I was the passenger). This photo is also gimped. I think boosting the contrast made it look more like it does in real life. Add a nice border, and I'm sold!

This was a photo I took on the physics department hike up to Holt's Ledge. This leaf was actually on one of the ski slopes which we took down the mountain. This was quite a bit of snow to have in October, but it certainly made for some beautiful photos. I also edited this photo with gimp. surprise surprise.

You might think this is Arrett Memorial Hall, but it is really Barrett Memorial Hall. A fine hall, if you ask me.

Exposure time: 1/4000 s
Aperture: f/1.8
ISO: 640

I also edited this photo in Gimp a bit, using "colorize" to give it the sepia tone, and also desaturate it. And then I boosted the contrast a bit.

I actually took this photo on Tuesday. I had happened to look out of my window to see the setting sun lighting up my favorite tree! The golden color was so vibrant amidst all the grey shadowed things I could see out my window.

223 - first snow of the season

Here it is, a photo of the first snow of the season (as seen from my office window, hence the screen). Yesterday att the time I took this, the snow was fairly light, so it is basically impossible to see snowflakes in this photo unless you look at the thick parts of the tree. It picked up shortly after I took this, and this morning there was still snow on the ground!

This photo is one of my new favorites. I just really really like it a lot. I think the colors, lighting, blurriness, and whatever else is going on, just go really well.

I found this wall yesterday in Hanover and was kicking myself for leaving my camera at home. Luckily the weather today was as brilliant as yesterday, so I had a second chance for a photo. I think the fall colors are slightly more vibrant today than yesterday as well. Bonus! And we are, of course, back to the lensbaby. This is also probably the first post I have made on the same day as I took the featured photo.

This photo was Gimped! I saturated the blue and green slightly. And then upped the lightness & saturation of the entire photo. And then added a feather border. This one was a little more subtle than the last I think.

The tree again, looking up from underneath. I also added a feather border to this photo. I always like how photos that are darkened at the edges look, but I'm not sure I've mastered the skill. I also don't know how to save the GIMP settings so that I can just apply the option to future photos. So much to learn!

So this is an image of the sky at night, in which you can partly see the Milky Way. Sometimes when the nights at the barn are SO clear, the sky just looks amazing! I intended to take some photos using the tripod, but I didn't have it at home. I tried to hold the camera as still as possible, but I bumped it a little, hence the non-clarity of this photo. But that is okay. I still think it is a good one. Exposure time: 80.8 s Aperture: f/3.5 ISO: 800
